Eat Project Vegan: Initiative of the IPPE

Coordinator: Justin Lumoo Paluku

The Initiative for the Progress and Protection of the Environment is working to promote the vegan solution, a solution that is both healthy and effective in combating climate change. With this in mind, it has already launched major awareness and mobilisation campaigns aimed at communities and local decision-makers, in a programme to “Promote the consumption of organic vegan products”, a project aiming to support anyone wishing to make their diet more responsible and reduce their ecological footprint towards plant-based alternatives.
This is why in the IPPE association we are bringing the North Kivu community of the DR of Congo into a “Eating Vegan” strategy to opt for a more planet-friendly diet by installing organic vegan vegetable gardens that will make plant-based foods available in the community’s households, promote the consumption of vegan products and respond favorably to the community’s food needs as well as reduce excessive consumption of animal products in the region. This project will allow the community to position themselves as agents of change and adopt a responsible and sustainable diet, raise awareness, act and be motivated by knowledge to create new vegan eating habits but also to demonstrate and make people discover the benefits, richness and deeply ethical nature of a 100% plant-based diet.
