Earthlings Veganic Farm

Ownership/Management: Katie Alibrio, Sydney Grange and Camila Guerrero

Earthlings Veganic Farm is a 1-acre plot along the Noyo River in Fort Bragg, California. The full piece of land is tended to collectively by Katie, Cmaila and Sydney. Katie and Sydney come from a background of Biointensive agriculture, having worked and studied for many years as a part of John Jeavons’ program. We bring the framework of biointensive and veganics to our farm in an effort to ensure utmost sustainability and as minimal harm to other beings as possible. Our farming practices include: minimal tillage (using only a broadfork), using hand-powered tools to reduce use of fossil fuels, minimizing the amount of area needed for farming in an effort to leave more land for nature, avoiding the use of plastic, sequestering carbon, growing our own compost, keeping the soil covered through utilizing cover crops, practicing crop rotations, ensuring crop diversity for optimal soil and biological health, and working towards a closed-loop system. Our focus is on selling specialty vegetables, cut flowers and seeds, where a seed adaptation effort will focus on selecting and adapting varieties for cold tolerance.
