Happy Chihuahua Acres is a 41.3 acre off-grid solar-powered Certified Veganic mini-farm and private animal sanctuary located in rural Northern California. We are proud to be California’s first Certified Veganic growers. The residence, garden, and animal sanctuary are located within a one acre perimeter. The remaining 40+ acres are kept in their natural wild state. A conservation easement is planned to ensure that the undeveloped area will remain that way.
The cultivated garden area is approximately 3,000 square feet. The main garden and greenhouse are certified. A variety of vegetable and fruit crops including: greens, grains, potatoes and other root vegetables, beans, garlic, onions, berries, apples, peaches, apricots, cherries, and walnuts are grown using Grow BioIntensive practices. Several of the fruit trees are located within the animal sanctuary pastures and are not considered to be veganic due to the presence of sanctuary animal manures.
